October 1 - 31, Spirit of Halloweentown:
The Spirit of Halloweentown descends on St Helens each October. Join them for this long celebration of the season. Fantastic Photo Ops with actors form the movie, Haunted Mansions, Severed Head Tractor Rides, Gothic Gatherings, Bonfires and Scary Things Galore Are In Store For You!

October 1 - 30, Halloween Fantasy Trail:
Take a Halloween walk through a lighted, wooded, "Fantasy Trail", decorated with spooky sights and sounds. Walk through a 40 foot castle with Halloween scenes. Also, walk through a tunnel, maze, crooked house, suspension bridge and more.  Pumpkins and refreshments are available!

October 2 - 30, Haunted Pub Tour:
Uncover Portland’s haunted dark side on this spine-tingling walking tour – all while sampling 6 local beers. Lively with restaurants and nightlife today, 100 years ago the Historic Old Town District was home to many of Portland’s less savory establishments – opium dens, brothels and underground speakeasy’s. This tour includes an exclusive 20-minute visit into one of Portland’s original Shanghai Tunnels. Please note you will encounter dirt/mud floors and a dark, enclosed space during this brief underground experience. This eerie tunnel system has been featured on the TV show “Ghost Adventures” and is known as one of Portland’s most haunted places.

October 4 - 7, Portland Fall Home & Garden Show:
The best place to start your next home project is at the Portland Fall Home Show! The show is the perfect place to meet remodeling professionals, get plenty of ideas and visit with hundreds of great companies so you can launch or finish your home project. New this year - Oktoberfest theme complete with German music, a biergarten, special German food and kid-friendly activities. October 5 - 7, Portland Greek Festival:
The Portland Greek Festival is celebrated as the largest Greek Festival on the west coast with more than 15,000 people attending. Each year the festival organization increases food and pastry preparation to meet the ever-growing popularity of the Festival. This cultural experience features Greek food, music, dance and shopping. The Agora - the Greek marketplace features imported merchandise, clothing, jewelry, icons, flokati rugs and cookbooks. Among the fabulous food, exclusive cooking demonstrations, and exciting entertainment, visitors have the opportunity to also learn about our vibrant Greek community by visiting the Hellenic-American Cultural Center Museum (HACCM) located on the 2nd floor of the church hall.

Start your afternoon of wine tasting at 2pm by checking in at the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce office, and enjoy your day of wine tasting, snacks, music, and art in local shops!

October 6 - 7, Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival:
The Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival is held on the beach, in the center of Lincoln City, at the D-River Wayside from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend festival will include kite flying demonstrations by experts, free kids kite making, running of the bols, and some of the most colorful “big” kites in the world!

October 11 -13, Circa:
Returning to White Bird for a second time, Circa is at the forefront of the new wave of contemporary Australian circus. They are known worldwide for pushing the boundaries of the art form, blurring the lines between movement, dance, theatre, and circus. In their newest work HUMANS, 10 acrobats take us on a stirring journey of what it means to be human. October 12 - 14, Hood River Harvest Festival:
Celebrate Hood River’s harvest season at the 36th annual Hood River Valley Harvest Fest. This old-fashioned fall festival brings together more than 120 vendors offering local produce and food products, plus arts and crafts, wine, cider and beer tastings. Held along the scenic Hood River waterfront, this is the Columbia River Gorge’s biggest celebration of the region’s incredible fall bounty.

Saturday, October 20th, West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta:
If you’ve never been to the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta odds are you’ve never seen anyone sit inside a giant pumpkin let alone race one across a lake dressed as a superhero or the tooth fairy. Over the last 14 years the award-winning West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta has become Oregon's most anticipated Fall event. Admission to the festival is free as are most of the activities. Food and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Saturday, October 20th, Barn Dance at the Oregon Garden:
Enjoy live music, line-dancing lessons, and a pig-roast dinner with a cold beer at the Oregon Garden!  Extend the fun by staying the night and enjoying the beauty of the garden the next day!  This is a 21+ event.

October 20-21 & 27-28, Howloween at the Zoo:
The zoo provides a fun and safe setting for this Halloween tradition, where costumed trick-or-treaters learn about wildlife in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the zoo. Scavenger hunts and activities are themed to teach kids about animals around the world, and their habitats and adaptations.

On the weekend of October 20 and 21, join U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service experts to learn about the "Monster Invaders" of the water world (a.k.a. aquatic invasive species) and their impact on our regional wildlife.

On the weekend of October 27 and 28, join U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Forest Service experts as we celebrate Bat Week.

Saturday, October 21st, Run Like Hell Half Marathon and 5/10K:
Thousands of runners will hit the streets of Portland dressed up in their favorite costume!  Stick around after for the super-fun post-race party with costume contest, live music, great food, tasty beer or cider and more!  Run Like Hell is a USATF certified event and has great race support, with aid stations every 2 miles, roaming bike medics, pacers to help you meet your goals and great volunteers.  This race is not to be missed!  This year’s theme is Willy Wonka!

October 26 - 28, America's Largest Antique & Collectible Show:
Attending an Antique & Collectible Show can be an emotional and fun-filled journey into the past. Seeing items from your past provoke wonderful memories such as the toys your mother threw away, your grandmother's cookie jar, garden antiques, board games and memorabilia. Pricing for many of the treasures you find a the show are modest and there is nothing like coming home and unwrapping your newly found discoveries.
