We would like to invite you to participate in a March Madness tournament challenge with our team and friends! We’ll be using the ESPN Tournament Challenge site that can be accessed by ESPN.com or the ESPN Tournament Challenge App (easiest option). The apps can be downloaded here:
If you participated with our group last year, Jimmy will be sending an invitation email via “ESPN Fantasy Games” on Friday, 3/14. You should receive two emails, one for the men’s challenge and the second for the women’s challenge. Simply click the “Join Group” link in those emails and you will automatically be included, in either the men’s or women’s challenge, or both.
If you don't receive an email and you participated in the challenge in previous years, you should be able to see our group at the top of the group lists as your 2024 (or previous year) participation. Just click into that group and re-join! You'll need to create a bracket to join, but this will not allow you to fill-in the bracket until after Selection Sunday (3/16).
If you haven't participated before, or you're unable to see the previous group, use the instructions below to join us!
After Selection Sunday on March 16th you’ll be able set-up the teams in your bracket. We have set a 1 bracket limit for everyone per challenge.
Team selections need to be filled in no later than the first tip of the round of 64 on Thursday, March 20th (before the games begin).
The tournament ends on Sunday, April 6th for the women and Monday, April 7th for the men, and we’ll award prizes to the top two finishing participants in each challenge!

- If you’re new to the app you'll need to "Sign-up", OR if you've used it before "Sign-in" using your ESPN account.
- Once your account is created you will "Create a Bracket" (you won’t actually select teams until after Selection Sunday on 3/16)
- Please change the name of your bracket by selecting the 3 vertical dots to the right of the auto-generated name. We prefer you change the name of your bracket to your First and Last Name so we can recognize who you are. 😊
- To join our challenge, select the “+ Create/Join Group” under your bracket. It is a private group so random people cannot enter.
- Search for TheMcDowellTeam (no spaces) for the men's challenge and TheMcDowellTeam W for the women's challenge
- A password is required as these groups are private. Please refer to your invitation email for the password, or reach out to J[email protected] or [email protected] if you need the password
- Select Join Group
